genet
Genet, "patron saint of excessive aesthetics" (Johannes, over in the comments on Montevidayo, after a really amazing post on the excessive and beautiful and outsider by Lucas de Lima). Like Johannes, Genet is in dialogue with Leo Bersani's The Freudian Body. He reads theory like I do, sleeping on it, rolling around in it, meditating on it. For his under-pillow he's using the anthology Pleasure and Danger, as well as Mary Gaitskill's Bad Behavior. Thinking of identity and notions of forming identity versus shattering it.
