Reading in Chicago!

this will be me

I will be reading from O Fallen Angel as part of The Parlor reading series in Chicago on Tuesday March 2 at 7pm, info on the sidebar. Would be great to see you! Am flipping through the book trying to pick out pieces, I think I'm going to read almost entirely from the whole ending...is that weird? Is that like ruining something? I'm modeling one of the characters on Septimus Smith in Mrs. Dalloway, I say constantly through the work that people die, there will be corpses, suicide, etc, quelle surprise? Is this like giving the milk away for free so you don't have to buy the cow? This is a strange metaphor for someone who follows a vegan diet to use. And doesn't this metaphor refer to sexual activity? Spoken by 1950s mothers to their daughters to guilt-twist them into virginity? By Mrs. Greenwood? And so who is the cow in this? Am I the cow? Are my words the milk that drains from my nipples? When I am done draining words, do you then slaughter me? Do we slaughter each other? How, now, cow? Now I am thinking of Ariana Reines.
